2 1/2 Beacon Street (second-floor studio space) Concord, NH
All art materials and lunch are provided!
In this workshop, you’ll take a book of your choosing and alter it to rewrite a story about your life.
Now is a perfect time to connect with the story of your life's journey through the actual re-creation of a book! Draw upon your inner wisdom as you rewrite the story and carry forward the energy and themes that you matter most to you.
Together, we’ll explore various ways of altering a hard bound book. This is a process that enhances clarity, confidence and creativity. No previous art experience necessary at all!
If you’re ready to explore how art can awaken, guide, heal, delight, and enrich your life, this workshop is for you.
How This Works
Date/Time: December 11, 2022 9:30am-4:00pm
Location: 2 1/2 Beacon St (2nd floor studio) Concord, NH
Capacity: Four spots available
Upon registration, you will receive in the mail a golden thread and some simple ways to interact with your thread in anticipation of the workshop. There will also be guidelines as to how to choose the actual book you would like to bring along for altering.
We'll begin our day by gathering at my studio, sharing introductions and creating sacred space together through ritual and the setting of intention. There will be opportunity for you to reflect on your golden thread as a source of wisdom and truth for the day's creative process.
Then, we’ll cover what altered bookmaking is, providing an overview of the process and numerous creative expressions.
You’ll get to work inside an individual mini studio space with access to plenty of materials like acrylics, pens, colored pencils, markers, buttons, stamps, stencils, magazines, fabric, special papers, wire, metal, yarn, threads, sewing machines, natural fibers, grasses, feathers, etc...
Lunch and breaks throughout the day will be provided.
